Captain Julle

Originally from Finland, Captain Julle brings an extraordinary lifetime of sailing experience to AD ASTRA. He first began sailing as a young boy and, more than 48 years later, has accumulated over 100,000 nautical miles at sea.

His professional career has included roles as a charter yacht captain, delivery skipper, sailing instructor, tour leader, and product research skipper. He has commanded yachts up to 110 feet and crossed both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Julle's sailing adventures have taken him throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Cuba, Mexico, Belize, Venezuela, Thailand, Burma, the Mediterranean, and the Baltic Sea. His extensive experience gives guests the confidence of being in highly capable hands, while his relaxed Finnish personality creates an easygoing atmosphere aboard.

Beyond sailing, Julle holds a Master of Science in Environmental Geology from Turku University in Finland and has also trained as a special education teacher and real estate manager.

Knowledgeable, approachable, and always ready with a good story from his many years at sea, Julle enjoys sharing his passion for sailing and discovering new places with his guests.

Chef Anna

Originally from Greece, Chef Anna brings Mediterranean warmth, creativity, and a genuine passion for hospitality to AD ASTRA.

Anna and Julle first met in Santorini, where Anna was working at a restaurant that Julle regularly visited with his charter guests. Her wonderful cuisine and warm personality quickly captured his heart, and their story together began.

Anna has worked in the fine-dining industry since 1997 and has an extensive professional background as an executive chef. Her specialties are Mediterranean cuisine, particularly Greek and Italian dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and plenty of personality.

Her yachting experience extends well beyond the galley. Anna has worked aboard yachts as chef, hostess, stewardess, deckhand, and first mate, giving her a complete understanding of life aboard and exceptional attention to guest comfort.

Together with Julle, she has sailed and catered for discerning guests throughout the Caribbean, Atlantic, Mediterranean, Mexico, and Belize.

Anna also graduated as a graphic designer from AKTO Art & Design College in Athens, and her artistic eye is reflected in everything from her beautifully presented dishes to her elegant table settings.

Warm, fun-loving, and attentive, Anna believes that food is an important part of every great charter. Guests aboard AD ASTRA can look forward to colorful Mediterranean flavors, beautiful meals, and the kind of welcoming hospitality that makes a yacht quickly feel like home.
